COMMENT
An unusual yacht designed to meet uncomfortable
conditions with panache.
From the echoes of Moitessier in the astrodome to the
low wetted surface of the slippery hull and the very
satisfying near 50% ballast ratio she is the antithesis of
modern French commercially orientated yachts and yet as French
as the good brigadier Gerard.
This is a passionate design for an individualist who
knows what the sea can do and would not care to meet it in a
thinly disguised underpowered motor-sailer; the up to the
minute sloop with 30% ballast ratio and a half rolled genny
about as useful upwind as a potato sack.
The keel is a long fin.
The deep vertical rudder is mounted on a goodly skeg.
The cutter headed rig will give flexibility
without the need for too much sail changing.
Masses of storage space make longer cruises
easier to cater for and could be used for more fuel and water
if needed.
The condition of this yacht appears neat,
seamanlike and seaworthy at a moments notice. The exterior is
well painted and unmarked, the interior fresh though lived in
and not pristine. The
owner is a single-hander who has lived on board for a number
of years whilst cruising the Mediterranean.
For health reasons he has decided to swallow the anchor
for a while which means that the boat comes equipped with his
full inventory.
At the price asked she is a great deal of boat for the
money.
