Owners comments and Background
This boat was bought by Falcon sailing for flotilla sailing in the Aegean where
she was used from 1978 to 1887. The current owner bought her from Falcon in a partnership and brought
her to Cyprus - it was then named Zephyros. As another boat already carried that name it was changed
, she subsequently became the sole property of the current owners. She
has been in use every summer in Cyprus since 1987and has been on many cruises to foreign places.
She was lifted out of the water in November 2005 for wintering. She has been sailed and maintained by one careful owner who has consistently made improvements as well as being most conscientious in general maintenance and upkeep. Rigging, sails and engine have all been subject to replacement over the years and many new items of equipment have been added. In particular the engine is quiet, barely run in, economical and totally reliable. The safety gear on this boat must pass all expectation of any serious sailor
This boat is fully fit for the sea and requires only food, water, fuel and crew after launching. It has to be one of the very best boats of its size and age available anywhere.
Sadly one of the owners has died and his widow, although having been a lifelong keen sailor, wishes to sell.
She is being priced realistically and any interested party may easily find that the normal "asking" price for a Cobra 850 would be two to four thousand pounds more.
She is a "snip" hence we feel she is priced to sell quickly.
