This 1978 Morgan Out Island
ketch was sailed from Maryland in the USA to Cyprus in 2002 and has
been to Sharm El Sheik, the bottom was planed and re-jell coated in
1997 and had no blistering at all . 7.2 Onan genset, air
conditioning, ICOM IC-M700 marine shortwave radio, packet
controller. She is large and roomy for cruising or live aboard with a
huge aft cabin, easy engine access, comfortable workable galley, 2
heads en suite to the 2 cabins.. All in all a very comfortable
configuration for cruising, with plenty of privacy should one
entertain guests or charterers owing to the separate entrance via a
full hatchway to the aft cabin, which as mentioned has its own
en-suite heads. Accessible from the main salon also via an internal
corridor (picture 7 below) which also provides access to the engine
room, which is housed under the central cockpit.
The galley is beautifully set
out in the perfect position for catering whist at sea, amidships,
with nice deep S/S double sink, an extra large double freezer
under the worktop, 2 side by side fridges and an icemaker. The
gimballed stove is perfectly placed to make it a roomy galley with
plenty of storage space.
She sleeps 7 in comfort, 2 in
the fore cabin, with en suite heads and shower, 3 in the saloon, 2
on a large double made up from the dining table and one on the
opposite side and a further double with en suite in the aft cabin.
A warm wooden interior with
plenty of teak on deck makes this boat worthy of some serious
cruising people to give her the attention she deserves and enjoy her
to the full. Centre cockpit gives a feeling of security with easy to
handle roller furling to the cockpit, the full keel gives her the
stability and the ketch rig will balance her nicely.
